During the cleaning process, the thermal expansion coefficient of the carrier material of the dirt is used to virtually blast off deposits. The CO₂ pellets vaporize immediately after impact. This boosts the cleaning performance and enables thorough but gentle removal of soiling. The process is minimally abrasive and leaves no residue, as the dry ice changes directly from a solid to a gaseous state.
